Charles S. Hickernell, 86, of Trout Run, Pa., died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012, at the Gateway House, Divine Providence Hospital, Williamsport, Pa. Charles was born July 17, 1926, in Schaefferstown, Pa., a son of Frank and Mabel (Dissinger) Hickernell. He was the husband of Dolores (Heckman) Hickernell. Charles was a member of the Harvest Family Fellowship, the V.F.W. in Wellsboro, Pa., and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He enjoyed camping, feeding the wildlife and riding 4-wheeler. He was a devoted father, grandfather and husband of 64 years.

Charles is survived by his wife, Dolores; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tedd Mitchell and Dawn Hickernell of Newmanstown, Pa., Scott Michael and Lisa Hickernell of Wernersville, Pa.; three grandsons, Shawn, Seth and Jobe Hickernell; a brother and sister-in-law, Warren and Nellie Hickernell of Fla. He was predeceased by three sisters, Esther, Selmaand Anna, and a brother, Edwin.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial service on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at 5 p.m. at the Harvest Family Fellowship Church, Liberty, Pa., with Pastor Harry Colegrove officiating. Burial will be in Schaefferstown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Susquehanna Hospice/Gatehouse, c/o Williamsport Hospital, 1100 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
