WESLEY ALLEN MARTINDALE (1940-2011)

Wesley Allen Martindale, 70, of Whitneyville Road, Wellsboro, passed away Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011, at Broad Acres.

He was the husband of Janet Smith Martindale whom he married Feb. 14, 1986. Wes was born March 24, 1940, in Detroit, Mich., the son of the late Wesley Marion and Leona Atkinson Martindale.
He was a self-employed plumber for over 40 years, owning his own business in both Pennsylvania and Florida, retiring in 2003. Wes was a member of the CB Club; past commander and life member of the VFW, Dewey Heichel Post #4907, Wellsboro; and member of the Wellsboro Veterans Club. He was a United StatesArmyveteran.
Surviving are his wife, Janet; sons, James (Jay) Allan (Nickie) Martindale of Charlotte, N.C., Donald Martindale of Wellsboro; daughters, Lisa Thomas of Winter Park, Fla., Misty (Peter) Crysler of Spring City; step-sons, Matthew (Shiela) Yungwirth of Mansfield, Vincent (Andrea) Yungwirth of Hutto, Texas; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers and four sisters. He was preceded in death by a son, Scott Martindale and brother, Edward Martindale.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 22, at 11 a.m., at the Whitneyville United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his memory to a Firemen's Ambulance Association of your choice or to the Whitneyville United Methodist Church.
